Vodafone have released the “Mega Modem” which allows you to connect to the internet using your laptop or computer wherever you are.  It connects to Vodafones 850mhz network which produces lightening fast mobile broadband speed inside the Vodafone mobile network.

Installation is easy on both Mac and PC, it is plug n play – it have a self-setup once inserted into a computer or laptop’s USB port.  The USB model also has a slot for a Micro SD card making it a portable modem and also a USB storage device.

Speed tests in Sydney achieved speeds of 4 Mbs (converts to 500Kbs) which means that you could download 1 megabyte every 2 seconds.  This sort of download speed is suitable for everyday uses such as browsing the internet, reading e-mails but also able to sustain more demanding tasks such as downloading music and movies from iTunes without a problem.
